1. Oh my goodness. First, thank you for being so raw and honest. I am right there with you in these feelings. I think the results of this election shattered an illusion for a lot of us. Being a Black woman born and raised here, I realized that we’d been kind of coasting along under the illusion that things were truly getting better. The fact that a very vocal bigot was elected president of this country was a grim reminder of the truth. I stand as a spiritual warrior who has heard and accepted the call to fight for the good. When I watched and listened to you speak about you standing up for your fellow marginalized brothers and sisters, I was reminded of your portrayal of the late Amelia Boynton Robinson. May you stand with that same courage and resolve. Though we are in different parts of the country and will likely never meet, we are standing together and fighting side by side to find and redefine Lovely. Peace and Blessings to you, my sister.

  2. Race relationships are very different in America between blacks and whites. It’s unfortunate that we are still dealing with it. Blacks in America don’t know what it’s like to be in the majority. We are constantly reminded of this by being classified as minorities. I don’t see myself inferior to anyone, and I won’t allow anyone to make me feel as if I am less than because I am a black woman in America.

  3. I’m just now finding your blog and all I can think is where have you been all my life. Thank you for expressING these raw feelings that I feel like I’ve had to keep in. LiVing in the south and being a teacher makes me feel like I should filter my emotions. So just thank you!

  4. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you I am still in denial about the entire election…I’ve beent muddled in thoughts like you and filled with personal family struggles. I haven’t been able process this all yet
